Throttle positions sensor, idle air control valve or could be timing belt. not sure if that engine has the interference engine, but you might want to check the timing. easiest fixes are the sensors stated above that are located on your throttle body

Replace the distributor unit. its a common failure on older civics and accords.

Check the air inlet tube for cracks. Duct tape will work in a pinch.

SOURCE: Civic '92 engine normal starts then stalls after 2 mins

Ihave the same experience try to remove the idle jet located next to the starting jet. But be careful in removing it as it will break easily ( you will need a flat screwdiver to do it ) clean it with a wire that closest size of the jet. change your fuel filter ang drain all the fuel inside before putting it back. make sure to put some air pressure on each holes on the carb so it flush all unwanted particles inside and pls dont use silicone in sealing the rubbers inside.

SOURCE: 1995 Honda Accord stalls when you do not press the gas petal

Sound like a clogged or defective IAC. (Idle Air Control) It's usually part of the throttle body assembly. It can be removed and the passage ways cleaned out with old fashion carburetor spray cleaner. If that doesn't help you may try replacing the IAC to see if that solves the problem.

Car go in reverse and drive but stalls

Without more information... The RPM slows down when it is put in gear. Try applying brake and some gas pedal to keep rpm up some and see if it still stalls. If it keeps running maybe the idle speed is too low or a spark plug fouling

How to TEST A TORQUE CONVERTER ON A Automatic Transmission

Symptom : chattering or vibration while idling, and in Park.
Transmission sluggish upon Accelaration..

Step 1: chock Block all your wheels, and put your Auto emergency brake on (applied).

Step 2: You step on your gas pedal with engine in Drive, Full throttle. do not hold your regular brake pedal...Hold gas pedal down for 2 seconds your car will try to move. All wheels must not slip.

Step 3: watch your rpm gauge, your stall should be between 2400-2800 rpm depending on specification of manufacturer..
a low reading isbad stator assembly,
a high reading is a slipping one way clutch..

92 Honda accord ex D4 light/acceleration problem

Change your main relay assembly under the dash on drivers side. I was able to get my small hands under there and change mine out readily--not easy to get to as I didn't want to take the dash apart, but I got it done. If you have other problems after then find you a used TCU unit and change it out (passenger side where they put their feet, pull the carpet up, you will see easy, easily replaceable).

I have an 89 Honda Accord lx and it idles too low

The idle speed for my 88 accord lx is 700-850 rpm for standard idle speed. The stalling is a seperate issue. When were plugs, wires, air/gas filters and distributor last checked? How long has engine been running for when you stall? Is the temprature gauge high? Any lights coming on when stall occurs? I am not a mechanic, but a DYI'er. These are common questions I am always asked when troubleshooting my Honda. :)

2000 accord v6 engine idle goes up and down after start up

I am having the same issue after I changed my battery today. Upon doing some research it seems like there is some way of aiding the computer with proper idling. I haven't done it yet... plan on going to the dealership where I got the battery, but from my understanding you disconnect the negative line from the battery for a few mins, reconnect, and then apply gas at 3000 rpm for a few mins until the fan kicks on. AND this will help reset your car to proper idling. Good luck

When i start my 92 geo tracker, it starts fine but about 5 seconds later, the idle drops significantly. enough so, that the car sometimes (usually) stalls and i have to restart it. it also stalls...

this is cause because the ISC is busted or can not open enough to keep idle at 800 rpm.

ISC , idle speed controller

but....
the car has a TPS switch on the throttle body.
if it fails to close at idle the ecu will never attempt to set idle.

or
car could be flooding. (too much gas)

you did not say if motor is 8valve or 16v and they are quite different EFI systems.
