1994 Ford Taurus, there is a whinning noise in engine compartment

Place the car on blocks or jack stands so the car can be driven without it going anywhere. Have someone turn the front wheels left, straight, then right while depressing the gas pedal so the tires are turning at 5 miles per hour and listen for location of noise.Have the hood open so that you can listen for that noise that you say the car motor is making.

Can you hear the pump whirring noise when you turn the key on? A totally stopped up filter can ruin a pump quickly, but it could be the fuel pump inertia cut-off switch in the trunk needs reset by pushing down the red button. don-ohio

Yes there is like a whinning noise that gets louder when you turn the wheel and kinda go's away when going straight. Have you checked the fluid level? It will do it when it gets low also. If it is full and making the noise it prob is.

Ones a 195 Lph the other SVT 255 LPH but it will work its better to have more fuel going to the injectors instead of the basic fuel pump. What kind of noise are you hearing?

no not the axle shafts.
if you want to remove the transmission you will but not the axle shafts.

They should not spin in park but can in gear. Since they spin in park this means your parking pin has broke. Thanks

You mentioned the noise was from the left (drivers side) front. The compressor is on the passenger side in association with the engine compartment. Question, once the noise starts does it continue while stopped or only while moving?
