My transmission (rebuilt) has been slipping a bit. The oil change guy topped it off with a quart, and it's running fine. For the future, since I think we had too little in it, how much does my Pacifica take? I don't want to overfill!
Trasmission fluid rarely need servicing unless it is leaking, you need to start the car and leave it in neutral let it warm up at least 5 minutes then check the dip switch, there is mark where it need to be at. if you overfill it will damage all the seals, and if it is to slow it will start slipping and eventually burn the transmission

If your dropping the pan and replacing the filter than it would be a good idea to have six quarts of ATF+4 handy. You will add four quarts after you reinstall the transmission pan.
With the vehicle on a level surface;
Start the vehicle, put your foot on the brake, and put the transmission in each gear for a couple of seconds. Return the transmission to park.
Check the fluid level. It should be about in the middle of the crosshatch area on the dipstick. If it is low add a half a quart at a time until it is at the proper level.
Put the transmission in each gear again and then recheck the level. Topping of as necessary.
You should be good to go after that!

SOURCE: How do you add transmission fluid to the torque converter on a 98 chrysler concorde?
The nine quarts is the total capacity of the transmission. The only time you would use all nine quarts is if you where flushing the transmission.
You will need to drop the pan and start over as your transmission is now severly overfilled.
I left the details of how to do this in your previous question.
