It's your alternator that may be the problem. Your thinking of the battery is wrong because everything on a running car is run off the alternator. Only if the alternator dies will the car continue to run off the battery-but not for long if any accessories are used. So the alternator runs everything AND recharges the battery until it is needed again to start the car.
Your alternator is barely keeping up with running the car, and is not apparently doing much to recharge the battery. Have the alternator tested.

I would not say for certain it is the alternator-there may be a problem in your a/c circuit. But first test the alternator...BTW, Kinsha, pulling off the neg. cable to check an alternator is as old school as me, but on modern electronics it is considered bad practice-electronics don't like little surges or peaks of power. Buy an inexpensive digital multimeter-it is fun learning as you go.

Check guages light comes on after short drive while engine is running, and the car died while driving on I-95 the lights started flickering getting dimmer. the radio would turn off when anything else...

It sounds like the Alternator is actually bad.
One great way to determine this:
Recharge the new battery with a trickle charge overnight. Make sure use remove the wires going to the Battery before recharging.
Replace the Battery Wires.
Get the Vehicle Started.
When it has Started: Leave it Running and Disconnect and Remove the Negative side of the Battery. If the Vehicle dies, it is the Alternator that is bad, and needs to be replaced..
The Battery starts that vehicle, and provides nominal power to certain accessories. The Alternator actual Runs the Engine and Recharges the Battery with a low trickled charge.

Gauge shows battery not recharging

There could be a couple of causes, the most likely is a bad battery cable or connection, or the fusible link on the positive connection(marked bat on the alternator)has gone bad.

Run the car, then disconnect the negative pole on the battery, then the positive pole.

If the car keeps running then your new alternator is working properly.

If your car stops then your new alternator is bad.

2004 A 8L won"t start

starter wont click because there's not enough "juice" to turn it over. this isnt because of the battery as you have just replaced it. it is due to a bad alternator recharging the battery as you drive. if it were only a fuse it would be the solenoid in the starter. but if it had started after you installed the battery then its not the solenoid. solution: buy a refurbished alternator and

Dead battery won't recharge

If the battery is old, it just may be bad altogether. If so, it won't accept a charge. How are you charging it? (should be done with a battery charger NOT by driving) Make sure cable connections are clean (not just on the outside, but where they contact battery) OOPS... just noticed date on your post... likely fixed already... if not do what I said.
If it goes dead again, check alternator!

Battery power -

Alternator might be bad, or is going bad. I assume you're using a stand-alone batter charger to recharge the battery? If so, you'll need to replace the alternator, as it's not performing the function of recharging the battery. If you take longer trips, the battery might run out of juice and the engine might stop.

If not the alternator, you definately have a short somewhere else that needs addressing.
