If it is part of the Ford "MYlink" system you can forget it. It is an integral part of the car's ignition and timing system. To try to disable it will render the car undriveable. You can shut the interface down so you don't have to use the gps, but it is like a cellphone. It is built into the car and all information must pass through the system so that it can calculate fuel levels, mileage, eta etc.
What kind of vehicle is it? Most security systems like LoJack have a kill switch tied to the ignition system so that if a car is stolen it will not go anywhere.
