It has to do with your security failing. It is very common in GM cars. My 2001 Impala had the same problem. I found a part that u can install yourself and it will bypass it allowing your car to start every time. I did mine about 5 years ago and it still starts to this day!!!! I looked at the list and your car in on it year make and model. If you have any questions they have great customer service :) I hope this helps ya Do It Yourself GM Security bypass

All "crank, no start" conditions are approached in the same way. Every engine requires certain functions to be able to run. Some of these functions rely on specific components to work and some components are part of more than one function so it is important to see the whole picture to be able to conclude anything about what may have failed. Also, these functions can ONLY be tested during the failure. Any other time and they will simply test good because the problem isn't present at the moment.
If you approach this in any other way, you are merely guessing and that only serves to replace unnecessary parts and wastes money.

Every engine requires spark, fuel and compression to run. That's what we have to look for.

These are the basics that need to be tested and will give us the info required to isolate a cause.

1) Test for spark at the plug end of the wire using a spark tester. If none found, check for power supply on the + terminal of the coil with the key on.

2) Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on.

3) Use a fuel pressure gauge to test for correct fuel pressure, also noticing if the pressure holds when key is shut off.

Once you have determined which of these functions has dropped out,
you will know which system is having the problem.

The most common cause of this problem on the Impalas is their @$!@ security system called Passlock or Passlock II. It is very sensitive and senses an intrusion a lot of times even when there is not one. When it does it locks down the fuel injectors. You can leave the key in the ignition in the on position and wait 10 minutes for it to re-set but it tends to do this 4-5 times a month at a minimum. The way to permanently solve this is to disable this portion of the system.
You will need to take the dash off ( it is not as hard as it seems) It is held in place with a variety of bolts, screws, and clips. You can do a web search for dash removal to try and find the exact configuration. Once the dash is out under the steering column there is a metal plate. It needs to come out also (held in place by a few bolts. Once this is removed you will have clear access to the underneath part of the steering column. Coming up the steering column you will see (3) wires grouped together. (Yellow, Black, and White). They will either be tied or taped together. The only one you need to concern yourself with is the yellow one. This is the most important step. (1) Start the car! (2) While the car is started snip the yellow wire, making sure it does not contact any metal. (3) using electrical tape or something similar cap off the ends and tie it off if you wish. (4) Turn off the car, put the plate back on, the dash back together and problem solved!. The yellow or orange security light will stay permanently illuminated, but it is not a problem. I did this on my Impala which I inherited 10 months ago and have never had this problem again. You can take the bulb out of the instrument cluster to for the security light but it is a lot of trouble and not worth the effort. Hope this helps..

SOURCE: pass lock problems

Your Passlock may need to relearn the ignition keys, if the ignition lock has gone bad like my in-laws Grand Am Gt, here is what i did so they will not get stranded any more. Buy a Passlock by pass module for around $70.00. You can order one from GMPASSLOCK.COM in the mean time try resetting the Passlock. Good luck

Ignition keys relearn takes about 30 min to do. 30-Minute Learn Procedure
1.) Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2.) Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON; the vehicle will not start.
3.) Observe the SECURITY tell tale light. After approximately 10 minutes, the light will turn OFF.
4.) Turn OFF the ignition switch, and wait 5 seconds.
5.) Repeat steps 1 through 4 - two more times - for a total of 3 cycles of 10 minutes. 3x10 = 30 minutes.
The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch turn from OFF to CRANK Important: Turn the Ignition Switch OFF. The vehicle learns the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
6.) Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password.
7.) With a scan tool, clear any DTCs if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles.

Without a scan tool you may have momentary starter interruptions while history clears itself.

Head gaskets blown or cracked head. It only takes 1 time of running hot to cause damage as the heads are aluminum and the blocks is iron.

Why is my 2000 chevy impala stalling and wont start up some times with no warning i dont have steering or brakes

Husbands Chev started doing the same thing. It was the ECM in the distributor. Replacing it isn't that hard. My best advice is to get a Chilton/Haynes repair manual for your make/model/year. You can get them at parts stores, Walmart, etc. There is a lot of information in these books. They lead you through the repair procedure and have troubleshooting sections where you look at the symptoms and they give the probable cause, most common to least common.

I bought a 2000 chevy impala and i do not have the manual and i change the battey and the radio block please tell me how can i unluck it

You must take your car to the dealer. The factory scan tool can pull a code from the BCM and they have to call GM directly to get the radio code. After that has been done, make sure the code is written somewhere in case that happens again. They will probably charge you 1 hour labor which will be anywhere from $70-$120.
