The only way to pressure bleed this system is using the factory diagnostic Tech 2 scanner , bleeding requires the ABS pump to run to prevent air being trapped in the ABS control unit

When you say plugs I assume its a diesel w/glo plugs. This could only be a fuel issue; its either dirty or it has water in it or has lost it prime pressure. Dirty or watery can be fixed by draining the tank and changing the filter then flushing the line by opening the bleed screw at the primer pump and pumping it out till its clear/clean. If its the prime pressure then open the bleed screw, pump till there is no air, close the bleed screw and pump until the primer gets too hard to push. Hope this helps.
Ok here is what you have to do. First off make sure your master cylinder is full, Second your vehicle must be running when you bleed brakes that is equiped with ABS this allows the ABS pump to to run you must bleed both front brakes starting at the passenger side wheel then moving to the drivers side. It will take quit a bit of bleeding and be sure to keep checking fluid level in master cylinder well bleeding. Just remeber the vehicle must be running while bleeding the brakes.
Try opening a front bleeder and depress the pedal ALL the way,should feel a light "tic" as it reaches the bottom,close the bleeder and try to bleed the rear again,but instead of pumping ,just take the master cover off ,open the rear bleeders and wait 10 min or so for the fluid to gravity bleed out the air. Thinking the proportioning valve is tripped so no fluid is allowed to reach the rear,opening the front should reset the valve . If there is alot of air the valve will just trip again if you pump the pedal,hence the gravity bleed.
You probably have air between the master cylinder and the abs pump. Fill the reservior and have someone pump the brake and bleed the primary lines at the abs pump. Good luck.
before condemning the compressor, check the belt tensioners closely, as they are known issues on these. remove the belts and check for play in the tensioner pulleys. also check all the other pulleys at the same time.
It is likely that you have a loose connection at the sensor somewhere between the sensor and the computer. Start by checking the terminations at the door sensor, and if they are tight, use a ohmeter and check the contact resistance for the switch in both open and closed positions. It could be that the switch is shot.
