SOURCE: where is the shift solenoid located on a 1999 ford f-150

The shift solenoids for your transmission are located inside the transmission you will need to drop the pan on the trany and they will be right there for you to access. Good luck.

They are round "cans" with wires attached. You should have SSA, SSB, SSC, Torque converter and Pressure Control solenoids. They control pressures and have no mechanical linkage.

SOURCE: Where is the1995 ford taurus shift solenoid

Note that the comment (from another online forum) that dcramer531 pasted into his comment, describes a 2002 Ford Focus's transmission, not the 1995 Ford Taurus transmission. I don't know the model designation for the Focus's transmission, but it isn't the model used in the Taurus. Some 1995 Tauruses have the AX4S transmission, which has no solenoids accessible in the transmission pan area; other 1995 Tauruses have the AX4N transmission, which succeeded the AX4S. The AX4N has only two solenoids accessible in the transmission pan area. The rest of the AX4N's shift solenoids are in the valve body (covered by the transmission's side cover), which is much more work to get to than just removing the transmission pan.

Where is the shift selanoid located on a 1997 Lexus ls400 ?

It's located inside the transmission so you'll have to drop the transmission pan for access. The attached document goes over removing the pan and identifies the solenoid.

Good luck. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_id=6901

Check engine light codes indicates shift selenoid a problem..is this expensive and what could cause it to come on? thanks Alex

The shift solenoid tells your vehicle when to shift. They are not very expensive or hard to fix. They are located under the transmission filter housing

All of the shift solenoids are located inside the transmission attached to the hydraulic control valve body, to access them you must remove the pan located on the bottom of the transmission.

On my 1997 Lexus SC300 w/ auto trans. I read the trouble code "shift solenoid B" I would like to know exactly where solenoid B is located. Can you help

I sure can. The shift selenoid is in the transmission. This component uses hydrolic pressure to change the gear ratio and exchange higher gears. You will need to remove the transnission in order to gain access to the shift selenoid. My advice is to get the fuild change or run a detergent/cleaner in the transmission to try and salvage it.

What does code P0753 Shift Solenoid mean?

P0753 means your powertrain computer detects a continuous open, short to ground or short to power in the circuit to your transmission's 1-2 shift solenoid. When the code is active, your transmission runs in a fail safe/limp home mode that only lets certain gear ratios function in the transmission.

The solenoid in your application looks like this
1edc2e6.jpg and it is located sometimes on the side of the transmission, but my guess is from the looks of it, it might be found inside the transmission, only accessible with the oil pan removed.
The problem might be the solenoid itself, or the wiring going to the solenoid from the computer that controls the transmission, or the computer itself.

2003 Ford Focus p1747 short solenoid error

THIS IS A COMMON CODE.. THIS IS A PRESSURE SELENOID LOCATED INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION.... SOMETIMES CALLED A SHIFT SELENOID... THERE IS A FIRST TO SECOND SHIFT SELENOID AND A SECOND TO THIRD AND A THIRD TO OVERDRIVE... THE SHORT CIRCUIT CODE CAN BE TWO THINGS.. FIRST A BAD SPOT IN WIRING HARNESS CAUSING SHORT CONDITION.. DOUBTFULL... OTHER CONDITION IS THE SELENOID ITS SELF COULD BE GOING BAD DRAWING MORE CURRENT THAN NORMAL. THIS WILL REGISTER THIS CODE....YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE TRANSMISSION PAN TO EXSPOSE THE VALVE BODY.. THERE YOU WILL SEE SEVERAL SHIFT SELENOIDS...WHEN YOU PURCHASE THE REPLACEMENT IT WILL GIVE YOU A GOOD IDEA WHAT TO LOOK FOR....THEY JUST PLUG IN AND 1 OR 2 SCREWS HOLD THEM IN.... LET ME KNOW IF MORE HELP NEEDED
