1999 nissan altima blinking engine oil light?

The XO indicator on a 2008 Nissan Altima is the "Oil Temperature Warning Light." This light will come on when the engine oil temperature becomes too hot. This can be caused by a variety of issues, such as low oil levels, restricted oil flow, or a malfunctioning oil cooler.

Engine would be very noisy, oil pressure gauge would show little or no pressure, warning light (if any) would be on about engine or oil.

Not exactly sure about 1999 model but It's usually located next to the oil filter with a wire coming out of it or with in the oil drain area. It's about $12 to replace.
For vehicles with an indicator light, the sending unit is like a simple switch. When the engine is off, or the pressure is too low, the switch closes, and illuminates the lamp. Let me see if I got this correct: You just changed the oil light, and now that light is making a bad noise. Strange.

Check yhour thermostat,might not be opening all the way and making your Nissan a hot tamalie.

I suspect that the oil light is not related, investigate the stalling issue. When the engine stops, it no longer makes any oil pressure, so it is most likely the oil light (pressure) is not causing your issue.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM & IT WAS 2 MUCH OIL ,I TOOK A 4th of A QUART OF & EVERYTHING WENT BACK 2 NORMAL.

check to see if your engine oil and antifreeze are mixing.if overheated you burned ur head gasket car will not turn on because it loosing engine compression. to check this you need to do compression test..ur engine will seize if you keep starting it.and letting it keep shutting off.keep damage to a minimum internally

Bring it in so that the check engine light will be off and it will run smoother.
