SOURCE: Nissan Altima 2000 - Engine oil leaking problem.

replace the front oil seal. first i would clean the engine with purple power (degrease etc.) then look at the engine and make sure the leak is not coming from above like possibly the valve cover gasket or from the oil sending unit. try to tighten the bolts on the valve cover and even the oil pan. you never know, you may get lucky. i don't know where you are but front seals are cheap but the labor on the job is what costs you.

"What does warning XO indicator mean on my 2008 nissan altima and how do i reset it"

The XO indicator on a 2008 Nissan Altima is the "Oil Temperature Warning Light." This light will come on when the engine oil temperature becomes too hot. This can be caused by a variety of issues, such as low oil levels, restricted oil flow, or a malfunctioning oil cooler.

To reset the light, you will need to turn off the engine and let it cool down. Once the engine is cool, check the oil level and add oil if necessary. If the light remains on after adding oil, or if the problem persists, it is best to have the vehicle checked by a mechanic

How do I know when my oil pump is bad on my 1999 Nissan Altima

Engine would be very noisy, oil pressure gauge would show little or no pressure, warning light (if any) would be on about engine or oil.

Where is the oil sending unit located on a 1999 nissan altima?

Not exactly sure about 1999 model but It's usually located next to the oil filter with a wire coming out of it or with in the oil drain area. It's about $12 to replace.
For vehicles with an indicator light, the sending unit is like a simple switch. When the engine is off, or the pressure is too low, the switch closes, and illuminates the lamp. Under pressure, the switch is open and the lamp goes out. The only difference in the above test, is with the wire disconnected, the light is out, and with the wire grounded, the light is on. What does it mean when the oil light comes on and the car cuts off?

I suspect that the oil light is not related, investigate the stalling issue. When the engine stops, it no longer makes any oil pressure, so it is most likely the oil light (pressure) is not causing your issue.

1999 nissan altima, overheated and no leaks after fluid replinished, but car will start and then shut off after a few minutes.

check to see if your engine oil and antifreeze are mixing.if overheated you burned ur head gasket car will not turn on because it loosing engine compression. to check this you need to do compression test..ur engine will seize if you keep starting it.and letting it keep shutting off.keep damage to a minimum internally
