Code p0443 refers to EVAP canister purge valve--circuit malfunction===causes --wiring---EVAP canister purge valve--ECM

code p0451 refers to EVAP pressure sensor --range/performance problem===causes --EVAP pressure sensor

code p0135 refers to heated oxygen sensor(HO2S) 1 bank 1 heater control --circuit malfunction===causes --fuse--wiring--HO2S ---ecm

basically the HO2S sensor is not stable and altering the air/fuel mixture settings for the ECM and this is not being helped by a faulty EVAP purge valve and pressure sensor.

SOURCE: check engine light on , code po443 1998 sonata

To cause a P0443, there has to be a problem with the purge control CIRCUIT, not necessarily the valve. Usually they are a unit housing the valve and the solenoid as an assembly. Or it could be comprised of a separate solenoid with vacuum lines to a purge valve. That said, it could be any of the following:

  • Bad purge solenoid (internal short or open)
  • Wiring harness chafing or rubbing another component causing short or open on control circuit
  • Connector worn, broken or shorted due to water intrusion
  • Driver circuit inside powertrain control module (PCM) is bad
I would just clear out the code and if it returns then try the above. Hope this helps you a little bit!

Sincerely,

JC

Oxygen Sensor Connector locations

513af30.gif

  1. Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals +B and HT. Resistance specification: 11 - 16 ohms at 20°C (68°F).
  3. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
  4. Reconnect the oxygen sensor connector.

SOURCE: po443 code 2002 ford taurus

That code is for the Evaporative Emissions. It could be a bad Evaporative Emissions Canister Valve or just a bad vacuum line or my granddaughter's 1997 Ford Escort had that code and her gas cap was NOT on. Now when you figure out what one it is disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to reset the computer.

I have 3 codes , po400, po443 & po135 have very low gas milage w/surging

PO135 is your EGR valve, P0400 = EGR Vacuum Leak, (EGR valve may need replacing, or may just have a hole somewhere in the EGR vacuum line ..
PO435 = Air Canister Purge. ( possible water in your air canister needs to be drained).

350 V8..revs itself and idles at higher rpm..tap excelerator and goes down to normal

if it is a carby engine then check the settings of the automatcic choke and the throttle cam screw settings
it works in a manner so that when you press on the accelerator the automatic choke flips a cam around and the idle speed screw rests on that cam giving a high idle speed until the engine is hot enough not to need a choke at which point the cam is held clear of the idle screw
if efi engine run the fault codes to check for problem accelerator position sensor or throttle position sensor.

After starting the Check Engine light comes on and the cruise light flashes. Also the car will idle but not rev.

Impossible to diagnose without the trouble codes. Get the codes read and post here. ALWAYS start by reading the trouble codes to get a starting point.

03 renault scenic wont start when cold unless reved can cut out but ok on restart

hi if on engine starting and warmed you have no problems and no warning/malfunction light showing ? then i would suspect that trouble points to the engine coolant temperature sensor it tells the ecu to provide excess/choke to simplify? fuel as engine is cold so in simple theory you are trying to start with no choke as it was on old carburettor engines if you are old enough to remember ?? (joke) it was much simpler in those days however check the sensor and its plug is clean/secure and wires are ok ? when sensor works your engine fires up and runs withslight increase revs till warmed then settles to idle revsas specified in h/book this sensor is not the temp sensor that works the temp indicator guage it is a seperate sensor and larger screwed into either cyl head or block on the side hope this helps good luck

I have volvo v70 with obd codes p0505,p0446,p0443,p0135,p0141 what does these mean

PO505 is idle control system malfunction. PO446 is evaporative emissions ( evap) vent system performance . PO443 is evaporative emission control sytem purge control circuit malfunction. PO135 is O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1) PO141 is 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (bank 1 sensor 2) Now what does all this mean. It means your O2 sensors are being effected by a problem upstream. Could be a many things. If the engine runs perfect then it may be one bad O2 Sensor but it may not. My advice is to have this diagnosed by a trusted mechanic who has the tools, skill, and knowledge to find the problem and not just throw parts at the problem. You can spend lots of money on this unless you know exactly what is causing all these codes.
