Location of airbag sensors

The passenger sensing system turns off the right front
passenger frontal airbag and seat-mounted side
impact airbag under certain conditions. The driver
airbags and the roof-rail airbags are not affected by the
passenger sensing system.
The passenger sensing system works with sensors that
are part of the right front passenger seat. The sensors
are designed to detect the presence of a properly-seated
occupant and determine if the right front passenger
frontal airbag and seat-mounted side impact airbag
should be enabled (may inflate) or not.

I'm not sure if a purse or other light weight objects would activate the passenger airbag but if your display is showing random passenger activation it would be best to have a qualified dealer check into it...better safe than sorry.

Hello: Sir, There are a total of 5 (five) modules in the Inflatable restraint system, ( airbag) I will list them, their purpose and location:
Sensing & Diagnostic Module, the main module located under the rear of center console, Driver side inflator module located left side driver seat back . driver side inpact sensor located left lower side of center left pillar. steering wheel inflator module under the horn pad in the steering wheel. passenger front side inflator module located under righ side of upper instrument panel . Right front passenger side impact module right side of passenger seat lower back. Rf passenger side impact sensor. lower part of center pillar. The left and right sensors are not modules . Note, Codes B0051 and B0053 require replacement and programming with a scanner. Hope this helps you

There are two crash sensors for that vehicle, they are both up under the front bumper near the radiator support and torsion bar. It is held in with a 10mm bolt and has a yellow connector on the harness. There is one on the driver side and one on the passenger.

There is also a sensor (Paasenger Presence System) located in the passenger seat that turns on and off the airbag or controls the amount of force it deploys with depending on the weight of the person sitting in the seat.

Each seat also has a seat belt sensor under it.

It has to do with your airbags. Supplemental Restraint System. This light can be caused by a lot of things including any of the following:

• Letting battery drain too low
• Bad Sensor
• Blown fuse
• Unplugging the car’s battery
• Removing the gauge cluster/installing aftermarket gauges
• G-Force sensors that are under each of the front fenders ($250.00 each)
• Bad clockspring (located inside your steering wheel)
• Bad ECU
• Bad reverse light switch on transmission
• Car was in an accident
• Airbag defective/unplugged
