Do you here rumbling also from one or both sides front or rear if its four wheel disc brakes one or more brake calipers can be locked up or the emergency brake is not releasing in the rear if drum brakes in the rear the return springs could have broken this is what pulls the brake shoes back when you take your foot off the pedal and will make a lot of noise and cause resistance because the brake for that wheel is partially or fully applied LATER MAN!

SOURCE: 1986 chevrolet silverado truck engine hesitates when accelarating

Along with the vacuume leaks I would check the carb. The accelerator pump might be out of adjustment or something else in the carb. Currently I have the same problem with mine and I just adjusted it and for 1 day so far it's ran fine but I have a holley on mine. Carb may be dirty also.

2002honda Accord 4cyl.auto. has hesitation after making turn and accelerating. When you apply throttle a brief flat spot then surges forward.seems to run ok.

This is a loss of fuel pressure and it could be either the fuel pump in the gas tank or the throttle sensor in the engine.

Why when I floor brake my car to slow down, and then lost the brake, the car accelerates

Sounds like your accelerator pedal or linkage to the throttle body or carburetor might be sticking.

Hesitation on acceleration

Most common problem is a failed mass airflow sensor. Remove sensor and carefully inspect the sensor for debris building up on the diode. Another possibility is the egr valve may be partially stuck open. The upper intake manifold is made of plastic. The egr gases enter the intake just behind the throttle body inside the plastic intake. It is pretty common for the hot exhaust gases to burn through the plastic and possibly cause coolant to enter combustion chambers. A restricted catalytic convertor from previous engine misfires will accelerate this due to exhaust gases having no place to escape.

Accelerator got stuck while passing a truck.

When you passed the truck... I guess you couldn't tell if the pedal was stuck since you were focused on braking.

When you brake, your brakes will overcome the acceleration of the car causing it to slow down, but like you describe, the second you let go of your brake, your car accelerates again.

It would sound like either the throttle pedal (gas pedal), the throttle line (connects pedal to throttle assembly) or your throttle assembly (on the engine) may be sticking....

Perfect Idle, no Codes, but stepping on gas causes hesitation

i would try cleaning mass air sensor, its mounted in air duct between air filter and throttle body, they sell the cleaner at auto parts stores, also as stated bofore make sure the intake pipe clamps are tight and it's not cracked, if that doen't fix it i would investigate a fuel pressure problem either a weak pump or problem with regulator

Engine hesitation

sounds like unburned fuel in the catylistic converter suddenly burning the fuel as your car picks up speed [causes the rotten egg smell] your hesitation sounds likley to be [tps sensor] throttle position sensor its a variable resistor which is known to breakdown not a difficult repair and can be tested on a multi meter with a bar graph on it yates210456
