Auto to manuel swap what wires need to be replaced

If yu still have the other engine try switching the distributers.. could be a IGN Module which lives in side the distributer.. Or take the module out and go to Oreillys auto parts and have them test the module.. Since it sounds like you did the swap yourself.. Go back over everything on top of the engine and make sure all connections are plugged in corectly. The computer provides power to the module.. check to see if it is getting power. look at the wiring diagram and find out what pin on the computer is suppling this single.. and test it.

Guys who did swap may have pinched the dist feed wire between engine and trans.

you can but it will mean swaping out alot of other parts as well. You will have to change the radiator, driveshaft, console shifter, and you will also have to look at the auto transmision you want to put in make shure it does not have any sensors or wires on the side of it. if so you will have to change the back wiring harness and transmision control module will have to be added. I would just recomend trading some one with an auto matic one. It is easy to go from auto matic trans to manual in those cars but can be alot of work to go from manual to auto.

There are shops that can cut your drive shaft and weld a piece to it. This is not cheap, and I would only use a shop that is well known for doing quality work. I would ask the local Chevy dealerships' service manager for a recommendation. Best of luck!

Yes it is possible to swap the auto trans to a manual trans but it will be a big job.
You will need the manual trans and shifter, flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, manual trans ECM and possibly wiring loom, pedal assembly, clutch master & slave cylinder and a whole lot more little bits.
The best way to do it would be to have a complete manual trans vehicle there to strip all the needed parts out of.

As far as the swap goes you can get everything you need from a you pull it junk yard. But it isnt going to be an easy swap. If you have never done this type of work before I would highly recomend consulting a professional.

But I must ask, why on earth would you want an automatic trans for off-roading?!?

the 2 wires work your backup lights you still have to get power to your lockup converter possible ecm replacement and wiring diagram needed??

you have a problem with the linear solenoid on the trans. it needs to diagd properly to c if its broke, or shorted wire, or disconnected

SWAPPING ENGINE AND TRANNY? the auto to 5 spd will be a pain would really need a donot truck to get all the clutch linkage driveshaft and all that plus the ecm is gonna think truck is automatic
