My first question would be, when you got the system recharged, did the shop vacuum test the system for leaks? Did they add dye to the system? If your not sure, call them and ask. If they did add dye, then they can check for a leak with a flourescent light. If there are no leaks and the system is holding pressure, my next question would be, does the a/c compressor cycle on and off when the engine is running and the a/c is turned on? If it is, then I would next look at the controls. If the blend air doors are electrically operated, I'd look first for blown fuses and bad ground wires, as well as relays. If the controls are cable operated, check for binding in the cables. This may require removing the control head from the dash, if you cant see them from under the dash. Finally, make sure all of your vacuum lines are good. A lot of climate control systems use engine vacuum to operate the temp. mixture doors. A bad vacuum line will keep it from getting cold. Hope this helps.

Hi there. I’m assuming that when you had the A/C system re-charged the system was checked and was working according to specifications. However, what might be have been overlooked is the operation of the actual heater control system within the car. I’d firstly check that all the heater control flaps and motors/mechanisms are working as they should, e.g. it might be that although the temperature control is turned to the minimum/cold position, the actual internal heater flaps and controls are still allowing hot air to mix with your cold A/C air. Hope this helps, Scottech

1999 VW Passat AC/heat doesn't work? The belt broke this summer? I was told should still blow heat even if no belt?

If you are talking about the belt for the ac compressor, yes the heater should still work.
If the blower is not working, you will need to have the blower motor checked for voltage and ground.

No air comes out when turn it on the heat or AC on my vw passat 2006

check the blower relay or have someone test the ohm resistance on the fan motors and or relays. also check all the fuses that deal with the heater and blower.

Vw polo heater blower only works on full power

all speeds go through the resistor except high that is why it will work on high you are bypassing the resistor if you are sure the resistor is good it has to be the blower spped switch on the dash

Hi, I have a 2006 Passat and the blower motor is not working on any position. If I turn the knob to 1 - 4 and switch the AC button on it lights up and as soon as i turn the know to position 0, the AC...

The blower motor resistor may be the cause of it not working. They cost roughly $12. Here is a video on how to replace them:

Vw passat b6 2006 -2015 heater blower fan resistor replacement ...

I would try to isolate the blower motor power connection, disconnecting anything from the motor and jumpering 12V DC directly into it to see if it will run when power is applied. That would rule out a bad motor. These are good places to start.

I have a 2004 VW Passat and had the AC on the other day and it just stopped blowing air - nothing - no heat or ac. Is it a motor or maybe just a fuse?? Any suggestions???

First-check fuses. If O.K. remove blower motor. But before that check for power on a motor terminals.Sometimes the resistor make the same problems.Located into blower motor housing
