All those codes have on thing in common and that one thing is the electrical ground connection to the chassis or engine. You need to locate that connection and make sure that it is clean and tight.

First you need to clear the codes. If these codes are from before you did the work. The ECM still thinks it's bad. Then if they come up again start with one and work your way through.

Hi.

1. make sure you have the correct type spark plugs installed.

Need obd reader for hyundai accent gls 1999

Sure you can. Put a scanner on the diagnostic connector under the dash and check for codes. The codes you get ,do not tell you what is wrong or what to fix,but a starting point for the diagnostic steps you need to take, to find and repair the issues your having. Now --you need an understanding of your vehicles systems and possibly a wiring diagram, to reach a successful conclussion. That's where a professional shop comes in.

My 2002 Hyundai Accent goes into 1 gear smoothly, jerks into 2nd and goes into 3rd gear smoothly. Then goes back down into 3rd and 2nd gears smoothly and jerks back into 1st.

CHECK ENGINE light??? Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' (Service Engine Soon) light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE the problem and perhaps eventually fix the problem.

Will not start;will crankover

Step 1. Find a OBDII scanner (OBD stands for On-Borard-Diagnostics). Find out what DTC code (or codes) are stored in the ECU (DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code, and ECU = Engine Control Unit - it's the computer which manages engine operation).
Step 2. After you find out which code is stored in the ECU, go to http://www.hmaservice.com/ and register your veh (by VIN). Afterward, you can navigate the Hyundai Service Site to find out what system is giving you problems, the diagnosis procedure and what may be needed to fix it.
