STOP what you are doing before you damage something!! Whatever you are trying to remove is not the water pump. Neither the sparkplugs nor the "timing belt" cover needs to come off. Remove the fan belt. Remove the fan (the nut is LH thread- means it turns left to tighten and right to loosen). You will need a large wrench (32mm) availible at sears. The water pump is directly behind the fan and is held in by 4 10mm bolts.

1990 BMW 525i 2.5L engine overheats after rplaceing water pump, stermostat,fan clucth,radiator

There's trapped air in the cooling system.
  • You need to remove the bleeder screw on top of the radiator when adding water to the expansion tank.
  • With the engine running, pour water into the expansion tank till you see air go out through the bleeder screw's hole.
  • Just keep adding water until no more air bubbles come out then just put the screw back in place.
  • Then fill the expansion tank to it's normal level/line.

My 1990 BMW 525i is over heating

Try replacing the thermostat. It is supposed to open when the water temp reaches a certain point usually around 180 degrees. It might be stuck in the closed position.

Hello! Even though you have replaced coil, cap, rotor, plugs and wires; I need to know that you have a strong blue spark at a plug...Have you checked a plug for spark? I don't want you to misunderstand why I'm asking you that question; Certainly not to insult your knowledge but I need to know for sure that there is a strong spark...Guru..............Saailer

Location for fuel pump on 92 525i bmw

Typically, you will find the fuel pump for a BMW 525 located under an access panel in the trunk. Remove the contents of the trunk, remove the floor/spare tire cover and a metal access panel will be visible on the floor being held in by several small bolts. The panel is about 4"x6" in size. Remove the bolts, carefully pry up the panel (it has some sticky sealing material) and the fuel pump mounted on top of the gas tank will be visible with fuel lines entering/exiting it. This is where it was for my 1990 525i.

Bmw 330ci 2002 not starting

fuel pump, first thing to look at. it's electric, disconnect a fuel line, crank, no fuel coming out, replace the breakable bosch electric fuel pump.
2nd thing, spark, remove spark plug, ground it to the chassis, crank, if you don't see or feel a spark, it could be a number of things, coil pack, or computer that generates the spark.
Crank Sensor, 3rd thing. just replace it.
After that......could be anything, bad head, bad computer, all things you'll want the dealer to check out. the above 3 things....you can do

1990 bmw 525i overheating ..

No such pump! Make sure you have anti-freeze in the radiator. It circulates better than just water, because water boils and turns to steam (goes UP) proper antifreeze helps it not have pockets of steam/air.
