Why does my dash lights work but the car wont start

HI , Did you have the battery checked or replaced ? and still the car wont start ?do you have any dash lights , or head lights ?

start with fully charging your battery.

Did you get the part new or salvaged, if salvaged make sure the numbers and letters are the same on the part you swapped

just a thought, but battery may need a charge, possible alternator not working.

I suggest you get one of those manuals people get nowadays to do it yourself..
My nephew use it to repair my car and it's totally repaired now.

could be a fuel filter

sounds like a short in your ECM. (electronic control module) the computer that runs your systems. it also runs the check engine light and lets you know when a sensor or something isnt working. you will need a good mechanic that knows how to do the electronics in a car.

Suspect the ignition switch.

Check the in dash lights to see if they are burnt out or you have a bad connection or bad wire. this could be do to having an after market sound system.I had similar problems with a 97 Plymouth Breeze i.e. loose connection.
