I need to empty the gas tank on a 1995 Ford Thunderbird that broke down and has a full tank of gas I would like to use that gas and was going to go buy some small diameter tubing I can't find any information on this make and model to see if the anti siphon has a screen
SOURCE: need help replacing fuel pump. 1996 ford
Disconnect the battery & any fuel lines you can and the same with electrical connectors first of all. Drain the tankwith a siphon pump if 3 gallons or more of fuel is present. It gets heavy to replace back in and dangerous too.. Have the tank supported now & remove the bolts from the tanks mounting straps. Drop the tank down about 6 inches and check for other connection that need to be removed
RFemove the center retainer to remove the fuel pump with the sending unit
I would replace both items since it is an older car and also replace the filter sock to the pump too
Reverse this procedure to install
