Battery not charging indicator. What could be my issue?

My 2004 GMC Envoy XL SLT had the indicator message "Battery not Charging". Replaced battery and alternator. System charging at 14.3 volts. Auto zones charge system tester had everything pass except the battery (had already replaced alternator). I replaced the battery with one from Autozone. Indicator came back on on the way home. It will also die, seems to be related, although it starts right back up.

Who did the testing & did both the
battery & alternator fail at one time?

Auto Zone has a repair facility & did the work?

What codes are present?

Did anyone look at a data base, to see what
the message your getting was & the solution?

I have a 04 envoy slt xl won’t start none of gages work only battery light comes on, has full battery tho & won’t shift out of park

Try stepping on the brake when trying to shift with the key on. Then try starting im neutral or other gears to see if the neutral safety switch is bad in park. You may have a bad wire from the battery to power distrubution or bad ground. So many things it could be.

Charging System Indicators
BATTERY The IPC illuminates the battery indicator when the following occurs:
?€¢
The PCM detects that the generator output is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination.

?€¢
The IPC determines that the system voltage is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the body control module (BCM) indicating the system voltage.

?€¢
The IPC performs the displays test at the start of each ignition cycle. The indicator illuminates for approximately 3 seconds.

?€¢
The ignition is on, with the engine off.
BATTERY NOT CHARGING The IPC illuminates the battery not charging indicator in the driver information center when the following occurs:
?€¢
The PCM detects that the generator output is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination.

It would be a good idea to have it checked out , most auto parts stores will do this for free !

My battery light went on, on. My 2003 GMC ENVOY, the message board said "battery not charging" .....I took it to autozone and they said I had a bad alternator which is why it would say battery not...

The charging system on your vehicle is Computer controlled . called ( smart charging system )
BATTERY NOT CHARGING
The IPC illuminates the battery not charging indicator in the driver information center when the following occurs:
• The PCM detects that the generator output is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination.
• The IPC determines that the system voltage is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the body control module (BCM) indicating the system voltage.

Battery not charging

With the engine running check the voltage at the battery. You should see more than 13.8 volts and better yet more than 14 volts. If you have 12 volts or less than its pretty likely the alternator is no longer charging.

2002 GMC envoy SLT 4x4, tccm, switch problem

About 45% of all transmission problems are due to a defective battery, its components and the charging system. Make sure you have the correct battery in the vehicle and inspect all items relating to the charging system and the battery. The vehicle should charge between 13,5 to 14.5 volts. The condition of the belts is part of this inspection. If all of this is A-ok then get a scanner and pull the codes in the PCM.
Remember once light is illuminated for a item that item no longer works. Once you've gotton to this point let me know and I'll walk you threw it. Hopefully its just a weak or incorrect battery or something along those lines. Good luck and keep me posted
