Transmission fluid

You need to replace your torque converter, your Transmission does not move/turn in any way while in park the only part that does is the torque converter. I would also get a full fluid change when that is done as well.

What gear do I use when driving on normal road in my 98 Chevy blazer

The owners manual says to use the overdrive gear under normal conditions and when pulling a trailer. You are suppose to drop down on gears only when going up a incline ( Hill ) that is causing you to accelerate drastically.

Do you have the stye that you have to manualy turn on each wheel to engage the axles...? If not you may have the pinion gear broke in the front. Will be pretty expensive if that be the case......

Sounds like a bad countershaft bearing. The trans will need removed and disassembled to fix it.
