Hi my name is Bryan. I have a 2002 Acura TL, V6, Automatic with 158000 miles on it. Recently my Driver side floorboard gets super hot after couple minutes of driving. Engine temp gage reads normal and car starts + runs fine. All the fluids have been checked and rechecked. No problems with low fluids or burning engine oil. Engine light does not come on. Car starts, idles, and runs normal. *Little sluggish when accelerating onto freeway. Feels like exhaust is plugged up maybe. Muffler is in good condition. Plugged Catalytic converter? ...I don't know? Please help! Thanks

It sounds like the catalytic converter is clogging up also if your car is running to rich the converter will over heat.

Have you noticed a difference in exhaust noise? You could have an exhaust leak below the floor causing it to heat up. Usually, you would expect a trouble code if there was a problem with the catalytic converter plugging, but I suppose it's still possible.

SOURCE: car dies when driving, check engine light comes on.

There is a good chance it could be your fuel pump , however if the check engine light is coming on and the dealer cant tell you what is wrong , try a different dealer or another shop. Second opinions never hurt.

I would have the cooling fan checked, and have the thermostat changed. An overheated thermostat (overheating caused by something else) will cause problems in the future.

SOURCE: 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Stalls out, engine quits running

since its a 1997 your jeep has EFI, electronic fuel injection. The most probable reason for your troubles would be the injectors or a problem with the computer controling them, not allowing enough gas to be pushed into the cylinder causing stalling or lack of power, also too much gas iin the cylinder can lead to back firing and stalling. This would also explain the reason it takes so long to start back up some times, all the excess gas in the cylinder is flooding the motor and u have to wait till the gas disipates till the engine will turn over.

SOURCE: I have a 1997 mercury cougar xr7, 4.6L, I noticed

Yes it can be related. If you bought the car from a car lot you may have a window sticker showing a 30 to 90 day warranty. The Catalytic converter can be expensive although it is similar to installing a muffler or header extensions.

The hesitation can be due to the engine controls trying to adjust for the difference in exhaust readings from one side to the other. Or it has excessive backpressure caused by the plugged catalytic converter.

96 acura tl 3.2l is overheating+signals wont work

Start with the easy one (hopefully). You probably have to replace your turn signal flasher. It's located behind the dash, driver side of steering column in the relay block (just pull out to remove).
Your overheating problem: Are you losing coolant, or is the car just running hot? Any leaks, puddles?
Check the cooling fans to make sure they are kicking on as the engine temp rises. If not, you may have a bad switch that is not telling the fan to go on. If fan(s) are operating ok, check the thermostat. If it isn't opening properly, it could be the cause of the overheating. If you have a leak in the system, then when it gets too low, it starts to overheat. Many possibilities, So, let me know the answers to the above so I can help further if needed.

1999 Acura TL Problem

The problem is the ignition wiring harness, as described in the May 2002 Recall 02V120000. I tried to get Acura to replace it a second time (first time they replaced it was at 75K miles) with no success. Car started stalling/restarting again at 200K miles. I bought the part mentioned in the recall (~$70) and installed it myself - have not had a reoccurrence since.
