SOURCE: 2005 Chevy Cobalt, how do you reset a fault code?

Your car has a OBD2 hook up under the dash somewhere on the drivers side, You have to have a computer to hook up to that ODB plug and reset it, If you live near a Autozone they will clear the code for you for free, One other thing you try is disconnecting your battery for about 30 mins, that works on alot cars to reset the check light.

Check the gas cap is sceruely fastened, check for leaks in the filler tube for gas tank, and check for leaks in the hoses/tubes to the evaporative canister.

SOURCE: my chevy metro 98 1.3L starts perfect but it does

can be a number of things from fuel pump to coil pack but check the egr valve may be starting to go -remove and check for carbon build up if not fully encrusted use a carb/or a carbon cleaning solution to clean and free up valve--most problems give a code but -fuel pump-filter-air filter dont and egr will sometimes set off other sensors but usually doesnt until its to late

SOURCE: 1999 Chevy Metro 1.0 L OBDII CODE P420. NEW O2

The o2 is just reporting information,it did not mean that it was bad, there is either restriction,in the cat,or there is a contamination in the fuel,an additive might clear it up,maybe.

I own a 1998 Chevy Metro 4 cyl. The check engine light came on & then started flashing. I have been thinking it needs a tune up but not sure if that will cause the light to come on. I am wondering...

hello,
the check engine light is used as a general warning or fault. A flashing check engine fault could be to an ignition problem. This is a bit more seriuos than just getting a static fault, Did it start flashing as you were accelerating? A tune up could solve the problem. If your going to do it yourself, I would first take the car into a local parts store and ask them if they have an OBD reader. Many do, and will check it for free. doing this will give you more clues as to what could be causing your check engine light to come on. I don't believe the gas your using should be a problem.
Hope this helps

1999 Chevy Metro Engine Fans don't work

Have you tried running wires directly to the battery to see if the fan motor works or needs to be replaced. Just get some number 10 or 12 electrical wire and run them to the battery. Try that maybe it's just that your fan motor needs to be replaced. Thanks for using Fixya.com...........Enjoy your evening : )

The engine fans do not come on.

befor you do that check the gorunds on the fan motors. jump the fan fuse so it's always on with the key on and ground the fan to the block or frame. if the fan comes on you don't need to worry about the ignition switch
