My back left turn signal and break light doesn't work all the time. While I'm driving, it will then randomly start working and then again, very randomly, stop. I notice this happening by the turn signal indicator on my dash speeding up and I confirmed that the whole break light is out when this is happening. Does anyone know what could be causing my turn signal to sometimes work and sometimes not?
This is probably a bad earth connection, Try checking the connection to the rear light cluster for corrosion around the wiring plug, remove it and clean the connections, also check the bulb fittings, clean and replace bulbs into the holder. This is normally where the problem is, and could be due to water getting into the rear lights, good to check for this too.

Spot on, I just got the same problem, both tail bulbs were ok but no lights and couldn't find a fuse listed for them, relaced the EXT fuse and it did the job and yes tailgate bulb was blown so I expect that was the root cause

Check the cable, connector or the holder, this might also be cause of fuse box problem, sometimes fuse seems to be ok but the fuse slot get ionised salts that makes a connection problem. You can swithch the wires for indicator with tail light wires to make it sure that the holders or bulbs are ok

Most likely is the brake light switch under the dash. This is a plastic button that the brake pedal depresses when you're not pushing it down. This little swtich is easily replaced. Buy a new one and see if it comes with a plug connector. If so, follow the old one's wires to the connector and switch them out. If no, cut the old one out and splice in the new one using solder/electrical tape (recommended) or wire connectors/electrical tape, or twist-tie together/lots of electrical tape.
