It sounds like you have the pistons hitting the replacemenet head.Install the correct cylinder head or shim the new one up.

Anywhere between. 038 to. 042 would be the right gap settings.

Find a relatively dark place, start the engine, raise the hood, and look for blue arcs (sparks). A little windex sprayed on the wires will enhance this effect. If you see these sparks, replace the wires, and your problem should go away.
