Light switch faulty looks like,

disconect the reverse light switch wires from the gearbox & bridge. If the lights come on it is a faulty switch.

scrap it

the braking system is not installed a the factory just the wire from the plug to the fire wall you need to add the fuse and control box

Are both batteries fully charged showing 12v? I ask this because I don't know if your friend's vehicle was charging. If it wasn't then when you put that battery back in your system it would reduce your overall voltage.

Hello. torque pan bolts to 7-10 foot pounds, install the drain plug and tighten to 25 foot pounds.
