The reflectors and the housing usually have a small port or tube device to allow air to enter the housing to stop condensation. If there is a tiny tube or port that could be clogged, or the gasket to the lens is worn and leaking or cracked. You will have to dry out the condensation first before you reseal the headlight lens and housing. This means you will have to take it apart.
First, if there is water in the lens, then it is leaking. The best way is to get the lens in a dry environment, like an air conditioned house, remove all the bulbs. Use something like a hair dryer to help the moisture evaporate. Next you need to seal any leaks. New aftermarket lenses are available for a reasonable price on line.
We'll if you are replacing bulbs and they work when you put them in but burn out quickly, that symptom along with condensation inside the lens surly indicates a moisture problem meaning somewhere there is a bad seal in the headlight lens assembly.
The headlight socket is probably not making contact with the light bulb, you may have to replace the light socket. If you get a lot of condensation in there, you make want to purchase some dielectric grease and put a bit on the bulb when replacing. This will keep condenstion away and prevent corrosion on the contacts.
That is a somewhat common problem with those. If you remove the bulb from the back of the headlight lens under the hood you can some times put a funnel into the open socket and use a hair dryer to dry the condensation. Then you need to be sure the rubber gasket between the lens and the bulb socket is in good repair so it dont build up like that again, I hope this helps.
The problem is caused by the plastic ultrasonic seam welds of the lens to the body of the headlight leaking, there is no correction for this other than replacing the headlight assembly, this is very common.
well you shouldn't acully do this when there is condensation in the lens you normally just replace the whole lite .. but here ya go just for you
the light and lens are 2 pieces there just glued togther. preheat the house oven to 250 degrees when its rdy put the light in for 2 mins only! that will loosen the glue and you can pull them apart :)
The headlight lens is welded with a method called ultrasonic plastic welding, you can't repair them, but there are after market units available for 1/2 the cost of the GM part, try partsusa.com, that is just one of the aftermarket suppliers.
