Mine did that and it was the crankshaft position sensor I changed it and done a complete tune up and now it runs fine so I would check that there are other things it could be but that was my problem
I agree ...alternator...just conks out while driving and then won't start. Mine conked out after going through some water. If it's still engaging but not starting I would definitely check alternator. You can but rebuilt instead of new and save some $$$

If you had a blown head gasket you should have water/coolant all over or in your oil. Check your throttle positioning sensor according to specs in your haynes manual. My 02 jeep grand cherokee was chattering while I was driving and ended up dying on the highway and I coasted into this town and luckly an auto parts store was right there. I tested it and it cost me 70 dollars.

First check to see of your battery terminals are corroded. If so, unhook them and clean them with a wire brush until they look brand new. Charge the battery up and if its still reacting, get to a local autozone as they will wheel put a cart to your car and check your battery and alternator for free. Most likely one or the other. Replace as needed.
