The Car starts and runs,but the brake warning light and battery warning light stays on,does not go off,when driving the car?

As a first step to checking make sure your battery is full of electrolyte and give it a full charge to see if that causes the battery light to go out. The two lights may not be connected to alternator fault. If, when the battery is full charged, the battery light goes out and stay out you will have got to the bottom of the issue. You need to do this as soon as possible because the brake warning light is a major issur, If charging the battery cures the battery warning light but not the brake light then you have a brake problem.
If charging the battery puts both lights out and they stay out then it is probably as the garage argues.....there is no reason for a lrake light to go out if no brake work has been done.
You are o a path of investigation that must be carried out quickly in case the brake warning light is a valid warning.
Wouldn't drive too far or fast till you have resolved the matter

Yes, it could be. Or you can check your battery. And try adding brake fluid to your master cylinder. That sometimes will cause the brake light to come on. Or check your emergency brake. Hope this helps, James Booth.

usually caused by failed generator. Fix the generator and other lights will also extinguish. The car should jump start, but will not stay running without a charged battery. Recommend removing the generator and take to parts store for testing. Would you like instructions for removing generator?

along with warning that the e-brake is engaged, it's also a waning light that something is wrong with the brake system. however, it may be a defective switch on the e-brake handle. i would have a break check done. also chech the fluid level.

I have same problem, 04 Tarus, Abs light, brake light, fuel cap light, oil pressure light, and one other, checked oil pressure with manual gauge and its good, has been doing this since it was new in 04, also radio has a mind of its own turns up and down on its own when warning lights are on.

Check and see if your alternator is charging
Low voltage will cause those lights to come on, as the computer is shutting down.

To check your alternator you will need a volt meter... WITH the engine running you should have about 14 volts coming out. IF NOT you need to replace the Alternator!
