first disconnect the battery and wait ten minutes this will dis able the battery. then get a manual there are several small parts that need to go in a certain way. and for the guy that his car starts then dies sounds like your exhaust system is plugged, simple test disconnect the exhaust just before the catalytic converter and start the engine see it still dies. and the problem isn't even close to the same

If I remember correctly, the trunk latch on your vehicle has an assist mechanism that latches the trunk then draws the lid down tight so you don't have to close the lid with any force at all - just lower the lid gently and the assist pulls it down the rest of the way. Check your fuses. If there isn't a specific fuse for the trunk latch it might be on the same circuit as the under-hood and trunk lighting or possibly the door locks. Is there anything else electrical that has stopped working? If there are no blown fuses and there is an assist mechanism, the problem could be the sensor switch that activates the assist or the microswitch in the assist motor that controls the closure cycle.
