When car engine is cold and started it vibrates or rattles. Doesn't always do it if it has already been driven somewhere and then restarted. Can feel it through steering wheel as well as hear it. Have just had wheel alignment done and this noise has happened not sure if this is relevant. Power steering fluid is full and tyres at correct pressure.

Hi and welcome to FixYa. Please try this:
GO out to the car, and lift up on the hood. Does it raise a bit and rattle? If so;
Open the hood, and look at the perimeter of the front radiator support. You will see 2 small rubber thingys, that look like that they are screwed onto the metal that is holding the radiator. Unscrew them a little, and close the hood. Pull up on the hood and see if the rattle goes away. If not, repeat unscrewing the rubber things until the lift disappears.
A FixYa rating (4 blue diamonds) would be greatly appreciated for my assistance.

If your tires are excessively worn or is you have a puncture sealant in them, it can cause these issues.

You probally have a bad front wheel bearing , when the noise changes when you move the wheel is typical of a bad bearing.this should be covered under your powertrain warr.
