Disconnect the Springs, removing the outer one first using the brake spring removal tool. brake-drum-spring-removal.jpg Step 4. Where can I get a complete steering diagram for an 05 grand prix?

Steering diagram? There isn't too much to it, you have the steering wheel connected to the steering column, the column connected to the rack n pinion, the rack is connected to the inner then outer tie rods, and the outer tie rods are connected to the steering knuckles. The power steering pump has a high pressure and a return line connecting it to the rack n pinion.

Looking for front suspension torque specs for tie rod. Or is a stabilizer shaft link the same thing as a tie rod

The tie rod connects the two front steering pieces together so that both tires point in the same direction at the same time.
The stabilizer shaft link is part of the suspension that helps keep the vehicle lever when you're going around corners.
Check with your local GM dealer or auto parts supply for torque specs.

I need to replace inner and outer tie rods and Idler arms. Is there a diagram?

The inner and outer tie rods are pretty self explanatory remove the nut from the knuckle. Whack the knuckle a couple times where the tie rod goes through and the tie rod will pop out. The inner will releas the same way. Get the sleeve whe you get the inner and outer tie rod. It will make life a lot easier. Assemble the new parts to the approximate same length as the parts you removed and install. The idler arm will be bolted to the frame and then have a ball and socket that will be removed in the same manner as the tie rod end. The pitman arm will require a puller to seperate it from the gear box. Sometimes you have to heat up the end that attaches to the gear box to get them to pop. Sometimes the gear box needs to be removed in order to get the puller on the pitman arm. Lower and upper ball joints are also very common on these. If they have not been done I would have them checked as well.

Inner tie rod bent on a 1998 Mystique GS; how to remove? A diagram would be great.

If the steering rack is good & your keeping it,
you go to a front end shop, not a chain store place

There are special tools to remove the inner tie
rod & then it has to be aligned

If you bent a tie rod, I suspect the rack is ruined
& who knows what else!

Power steering "pop"

On these vehicles, rack & pinion mount bushings and inner tie rod bushings basically wear away to a point sometimes they fall apart completely, dangerous to drive if thats the case. Easy fix for a trained technician.

I need a suspension diagram that shows the Inner tie rods.

The inner tie rods are screwed into ends of the steering rack assembly.

Look at this diagram. #6 is the rubber boots and #7 is the shaft from the inner tie rods.

I need to replace the inner tie rods on my 97' conti......need a diagram of how to and any other info pertinent to the job - Bair

If this is a rack and pinion type steering, in order to remove the inner tie rods you will first have loosen the jam nut at the outer tie rod end, next unbolt the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle, unscrew the outer tie rod end off (be sure to count how many turns to remove), next remove the inner bellows boot (black boot) from the tie rod / rack and pinion, next is to unscrew the inner tie rod from the rack assembly (the do make a tool for this to make it easier) but if you do not have the tool, you can sometimes use a big pair of channel locks or a big enough wrench to fit on the fitting on the inside of the inner tie rod, and just unscrew the inner tie rod (normal left=loosen, right=tighten). Hope this helps. Would also recommend having it aligned after you are finished.
