Airbag light flashes 3 then 6 times on my 2001 Lincoln LS. What does this code mean?

Make sure you know where the coolant is leaking from and do not let it run to low and overheat. If the check engine light is only flashing and not staying on steady this signifies a soft code or pending code. So this issue must've just started I assume. A PO300 code means it has a multiple cylinder misfire.

Be aware that overheating as well as misfiring are the biggest reasons for a catalytic converter to plug. Just another reason to remedy the situation as soon as possible.

Lamp Fault Code 36 has four possibilites, of which are the following:
-Driver Side Air Bag Circuit Shorted to Ground
-Driver Side Air Bag Circuit Shorted to Battery or Ignition
-Driver Side Air Bag Circuit Resistance High
-Driver Side Air Bag Circuit Resistance Low
With that said, it's most likely your driver air bag needs to be replaced...

I have checked 200 and 2001 Lincoln Ls, both 5 and 8 cyl engines.

I can't find a code 91....I can find code 109....thats Barometric sensor.

Is it probably the Sensor on the Steering wheel itself. I know because I had this very same problem. Chances are highly likely that if you attach a computer to your car for an error read me. You will get the code which says your steering wheel panel is faulty and needs to be replaced. This thing costs about $600 Dealer. If you can get a nice good looking one at the Junk Yard. Go for it. By the way keep a good eye on your Coil Springs for your spark plugs and your Valve Cover Gasket. These lincoln LS's have Redefined parts for these problems as per Ford.

When the airbag light (SRS) is on or blinks it means a fault has occurred in the system and the airbag diagnostic monitor has disabled the system, the most common problem that turns the light on is a break in the connection to the steering wheel mounted airbag, this is due to a rotating ribbon contact that breaks under the steering wheel that connects the airbag to the wiring harness and the diagnostic monitor, the part is called the clock spring contact, a coiled up ribbon electrical contact that turns with the steering wheel while maintaining a mechanical connection to the airgag mounted on the steering wheel, to replace this part you must disarm the airbag system and remove the steering wheel, this requires a special steering wheel puller tool and that you disarm the airbag system before you start the work, to do this disconnect the battery negative cable for 1 hour prior.

The Airbag indicator lamp is burnt out, and a flash code is waiting.
Radio shack ( or similar ) should still have the replacement bulb for it.

Once you put it back in, the airbag lamp will flash a code that is a number, t ( ie flash 3 times ) then another number ( ie flash 5 times ). You will need that code for the next step in the diagnoses. Don't be alarmed if you get 10 sets of 3 flashes, that is actually a LFC ( Light Flash Code ) 33

You will have to get the airbag code read to be sure but I have had to replace the clockspring in my steering wheel and also the airbag wiring harness under the passenger seat on my 2002 Lincoln LS, all in less than one year. If you or someone you know can help you remove the seat you can do the wiring harness yourself, it is a simple clip.

could be your clock spring, or a loose connection somewhere under your seats

Had the same problem, found the wire disconnected under the driver seat (there is a yellow plug and with one red wire, which is fine, and one green wire, which is broken. Fixed the wire, light went off.
