I need to replace the regulator on the driver side front window. I would like to know how difficult it is and if it is something I can do myself. If it is, where can I find the instructions to do it? Thank you

Most common problem is a broken regulator. If you press the button to open or close you should hear the motor click. If nothing is heard then your switch could be bad, wiring could be bad, motor could be seized.

I don't have a diagram for you however I do have some sound advice. If you have never changed out a window regulator, you don't want to start learning with a BMW. Believe me you will rip most of your hair out by the days end and you'll rip a lot of skin from your hands and arms. There are too numerous little tricks and rules to follow for me to list. Trust me when I say, bring it to your favorite mechanic, it doesn't have to be a dealer, but, you do not want to undertake this project.

Hi,
It depends on how old your car is and the availability of spare parts in your area. The problem might be that the plastic rollers have mal-aligned on the rail thus causing the metal arm to bend. You will need to replace the engine set for the winder. I recommend you get the specific type for the model you are using to avoid future recurrences.
Cheers
