The lower part inside the seat back is a rubber loop. Just push the rubber loop off the stud and pull the button out. These are so easy to remove. Junk yard might just give them to you (if not, they are probably only $1).

How do i open the engine bonnett to a 94 vw jetta when the release cable broke

If you have the end of the cable, and the handle just broke, grab the cable with a pair of Vise Grips or something and pull it. If the cable broke off, you will have to try to get it from either under the car, or try to do it through the grille at the latch mechanism (we had to do that for my aunts cadillac once)

2000 jetta gl, Seat does not latch in place. Drivers seat

Look for nuts inside rails where seat is attached to floor, if not, observe under vehicle in that area for nuts to remove that are attached to studs coming down through floor.

2003 VW Jetta trunk does not open

most likely cause is latch cover plastic has broken and got lodged in the latch mechanism. now the fun part, fold down back seat , slide into trunk with a phillips screwdriver a flashlight and a large strait blade screwdriver, once in trunk remove trunk cover, then with strait blade unlatch the trunk. once lid is open remove latch and take out broken plastic to free up latch and reinstall then retest before closing trunk.

Jetta 2003, trunk won't lock

More than likely the spring inside the latch has come undone. To save some money you can remove the latch from the trunk, open the latch and reset the spring. To Remove the latch you will need to remove the carpeted cover on the trunk lid (there are about 10-15 phillips screws holding it on.) Once the cover is off disconnect the rod going to the latch by opening up the clip thats connected to the actuator. Disconnect the wire harness, Remove the 2 10mm Nuts holding the latch to the lid. Remove the black plastic cover on the latch and remove the electrical piece (the plastic cover wraps over the latch and is secured buy 2 plastic pressure snaps). Look down into the latch and you should see a small spring...on my Jetta the spring wasn't connected. take a small pointed object ( I used a light tester) and reattch the spring to the black hook. Mine had some broken plastic in it and After I removed that it worked fine. Once the spring is back into place reassemble the trunk and you should be good to go. No money spent, and it only takes about a half hour or 45 mins to do.

Trunk release

I had the same problem with my 96 jetta trek edition, solenoid was engaging but the trunk was jammed, went in via back seat, fold down the seat and crawled into the trunk unscrewed the latch, cleaned and greased the latch mechanism and hinges, then screwed latch back, no problem since. The fusebox is underneath the dashboard, if the fuse is good, test the solenoid to see if it is working correctly, be careful have an expert in electricity do the testing for you, if solenoid is good, might be your switch in your console, if the switch is good, might be mechanical, these are basic troubleshooting procedures.
