If you've got a car this expensive I would stop what you are doing and talk to a dealer. You could be causing major repair costs by continuing. Trust me, there's nothing cheap on a RR.

SOURCE: Transmission Not Going into Overdrive

First check and make sure the fluid is full. The most likely cause is a failed solenoid pack. Circuit codes normally mean something electrical not mechanical has failed. The solenoid pack is on the outside of trans pretty easy to replace.

What are codes P0733 and P0736 indicating on a 2002 Jeep Liberty?

Codes P0733 and P0736 on a 2002 Jeep Liberty refer to transmission-related issues. Here's what each code indicates: P0733 - Gear 3 Incorrect Ratio: This code indicates that the transmission is not shifting into the third gear correctly. It suggests a problem with the gear ratio between the input and output shafts of the transmission when the third gear is engaged. This could be caused by issues such as a faulty transmission solenoid, a worn or damaged gear, low transmission fluid level, or internal transmission problems. P0736 - Reverse Incorrect Ratio: This code indicates that the transmission is not shifting into the reverse gear correctly. It suggests a problem with the gear ratio between the input and output shafts of the transmission when the reverse gear is engaged. Possible causes could include a faulty transmission solenoid, a damaged or worn reverse gear, low transmission fluid level, or internal transmission issues.

Both error codes you have are transmission related. P0736 is an error for reverse has wrong gear ratio. P0700 is a general transmission problem code

Now i dont know a lot about automatics especially modern ones with all this fancy electronics thats used nowdays but i think its a fault with the temperature sensor for the gearbox. But where its located and what it looks like i have no idea it could even be mounted inside the gearbox .Sorry not a very good answer from a mechanic but?? very few of our europeon cars come with auto transmission .Evan when i do know whats wrong i cannot buy the parts for the gearbox as only re-con boxes supplied by the dealer so best advice is to try a specialist in auto box repairs only .PS some of my best students when i used to teach mechanics many moons ago were the girls so no excuses like iam only a girl please

Whats a reverse ratio and a P1784 & P1782

Hi.

Technically speaking a gear ratio is the rapport between the angular velocity (rotating speed) of the engine shaft and the angular velocity of the transmission output shaft.
The reverse ration is the ratio of the reverse gear. Your codes are pointing at a problem with the electronic transmission, probably a defective pressure switch inside transmission resulting in wrong reverse gear ratio. Please see my troubleshooting in this similar case where a defective pressure switch led to incorrect first gear ratio (I know your code is with reverse).

Regards.

Ginko

No reverse on my Auto Range Rover 2.5 DSE (2000)

I have referred your problem to Graeme Cooper automotive and should get advice within a day or so. However, I had exactly the same problem on another vehicle, also changed the filter and oil. It worked for a while then failed completely.

First, check under the vehicle for any leaking hose that could be causing a pressure drop. Failing that, the bad new is that you probably have a dud torque converter and/or bad clutch packs and it will be an expensive job
