I'M REPLACING THE TIMING BELT IN MY 2005 SUBARU FORESTER HAVE ALL MARKS SET BUT PASSENGER SIDE CAM PULLEY TURNS FREELY ABOUT ONE AND A HALF INCHES.

This is OK just set the marks as you stated. The drivers side acts as if it were spring loaded so you have to work it to the right to get to the mark. Good Luck Friend.

2002 subaru forester. will not idle or take fuel properly. have replaced idle air control, coil, timing belt, etc. does not read any codes.

Try unplugging the MAF sensor, the check engine light will come on but the engine should run almost normally. If this is the case replace the MAF sensor. MAF's seldom set fault codes.
