How do I clear a 2006 ML350 service c exceeded by 28 days warning light that appears on my dash when I start the car?

Take it to the dealer for an oil change - they'll clear the warning light.

Here is how to reset the service Indicator

1. Insert key into ignition, switch to position "1". this is the first position from when you insert the key which is 0. 2 is where all the light and accessories turn on, and 3 is where you turn it to start. You need to make sure you only turn to 1 or it wont work.

2. Press menu buttons repeatedly until the mileage is displayed within the Multifunction display.

3. Press cluster illumination button (1) 3 times in short succession. The battery voltage will be displayed

4. Press the up or down buttons until the service menu appears.

5. Use the + and - buttons to select menu option "Confirm".

6. Press menu button until "Complete Service" is selected.

7. Confirm "Complete Service" with menu button . The display will show "Service Confirmed".


And thats it!. You should only do this if you have had the work done by someone other than the dealer. Ignoring these can cause rather expensive damage down the road.
