Make sure that the coolant recovery is at the correct marks, start the engine, let it warm to operating temperature, and check the coolant tank for BUBBLES. If bubbles are present, the exhaust gases are getting into the combustion chamber. YOU HAVE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET OR A CRACKED CYLINDER HEAD, EITHER WAY IT IS A MAJOR REPAIR. Buy a HAYNES AUTO MANUAL FOR A 1994 CAMARO, AND THE REPAIR INFORMATION FOR A BLOWN HEAD GASKET SHOULD BE INCLUDED. I HOPE THAT IT IS A BLOWN GASKET INSTEAD OF A CRACKED HEAD.
Check the gasket it probaely going back in to the cylinder head
SOURCE: i have replaced my waterpump on my 1994 camero i
the process is still the same,so if you did one of 'em...then you can do 'em all. this one will be no harder than the camaro.
makes me feel good to see females doing this stuff on thier own,as to many shops give te rest of us a bad name by tryig to overcharge them.
your best bet if you continue to work on your own vehicle,is to go to an autoparts store, and buy the HAYNES repair manual for your vehicle. they are 20 bucks at Autozone, and are invaluable with info. I ALWAYS buy them when i buy a car or truck...they are easy to understand and cover everything from changing the oil to removing and rebuilding the engine.
Let me know how it went!!
