Where is the brake light switch located on a 62 ford econoline truck? Is it on the master cylinder? If so where is the cylinder located?

if its the low brake fluid light then the switch is located on the proportioning block. if its the brake light switch that operates the brake light when pushing the brake pedal then this is located at the base of the steering colume where the switch is mounted. there will be 2 wires one wire will have power all the time and the other wire will only have power when the brake pedal is pushed.

Brake lights do not come on

You may have a defective brake switch. The switch is located behind the brake foot pedal. When you apply pressure to the brake foot pedal, the switch should compress.

Where is the brake switch located on a 1990 geo prizm?

Brake Light Switch The brake light switch is located at the top of the pedal arm. It is the switch which turns the brake lights on when the brakes are applied. The plunger type switch is held in the off position by the normal position of the brake pedal; when the pedal moves during brake application, the switch plunger moves forward and the brake lights are brought on. The switch is almost always the first place to look for the cause of the brake lights flickering over bumps or staying on without use of the brakes. If the brake lights fail to work with the brakes applied, check the fuse first and then check the switch.

Took it to Autozone because of check engine light and they said it had to do with a brake switch on the brake pedal or something like that.

Your Brake Light Switch is located on the upper brake pedal arm located under the drivers side dash, when use you the brakes and the pedal is depressed it activates the Brake Light Switch which in turn sends a electrical signal to the brake light bulbs. That is how your brake lights turn on. It is very easy to replace if you buy the part yourself, just locate the switch under the dash and remove and replace.

Sounds like your brake light switch, located on the brake pedal, has gone out. Shouldn't cost to much at auto parts store. Thanks for using fixya.
