Are you sure that you changed the ASD relay? that code is for no signal from the ASD to the PCM. Check that you have constant 12v at the relay base and that you have switched voltage when the key is on at the relay base, then make sure you have continuity to ground at the relay base. If the relay clicks when the key is turned on then the internal coil is making and should be sending a signal to the PCM when the key is turned on.

1999 1500 dodge ram 5.9 no power to coil

12V power is provided to the coil through the automatic shutdown relay (ASD). The PCM controls the primary ignition pulse (which creates the spark) by grounding the coil based on inputs from the crankshaft position sensor and the distributor pickup coil.

2000 dodge ram 1500 5.9 4x4 ASD relay shuts off after a second or 2 and i lose power to coil and injectors

The ASD relay is controlled by the PCM (computer). The PCM will shut the ASD relay off if it doesn't see a signal from the crankshaft position sensor. Check that sensor and the wiring from the sensor to the PCM.

I have a 2000 durango4.7 was driving home last night it died threw up code p1389 I have seen a power steering leak and it leaked on a sensor would this cause it not to run

I wouldn't think so , these sensors are made to be in a harsh environment ! If fluid or oil soaked for a long time , it could affect the wiring , maybe ! Your problem is the code , crankshaft sensor and or cam sensor ! P1391 DODGE

I have a p2323 code and replaced the spark plugs. I pulled the battery cable and after a week the code came back. What could be causing this.

P2323 Dodge - Ignition Coil Secondary Number 8 Circuit Condition - Faulty spark plug or coil boot
- Faulty Ignition Coil 8
- Ignition Coil 8 harness is open or shorted
- Ignition Coil 8 circuit poor electrical connection
Possible symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Engine may be running rough

P2323 Dodge Description
The ignition system is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) on all engines. Each cylinder is equipped with 1 dual-output coil. Meaning one coil mounts directly over one of the dual spark plugs for 1 high-voltage output.
Battery voltage is supplied to all of the ignition coils positive terminals from the ASD relay. If the PCM does not see a signal from the crankshaft and camshaft sensors (indicating the ignition key is ON but the engine is not running), it will shut down the ASD circuit.
Base ignition timing is not adjustable. By controlling the coil ground circuits, the PCM is able to set the base timing and adjust the ignition timing advance. This is done to meet changing engine operating conditions.
The PCM adjusts ignition timing based on inputs it receives from:
- The engine coolant temperature sensor
- The crankshaft position sensor (engine speed)
- The camshaft position sensor (crankshaft position)
- The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor
- The throttle position sensor
- Transmission gear selection

My 1999 dodge ram will start and idel until i hit the gas and let off then it dies. it gives me a p1389 code

I would start with the auto shutdown (asd) relay it is located in the power distribution box it may have corrosion or pcm could be bad it needs to be tested it connects the fuel injectors, o2 sensor and ignition coil if the pcm dont detect a 12 volt from the asd relay it will shut off.

Code p1389 on dodge ram 1500 slt 5.9 liter replaced computer due to p0601 now this code still doesn't start so where is it located?

The Auto Shutdown (ASD) Relay is designed to cut off your engine in case of an accident or rollover.

The PCM controls the ASD and I'm thinking that the new PCM isn't programmed properly.

This relay should be in the fuse box under your hood
