according to local dealer the fuel filter is part of the fuel pump assembly and is not replaced during regular maitenance It is in the gas tank 2002 Kia Optima does not have a fuel filter Why they sell the part is still up for debate since nobody including the dealership in my town

you will have to clean the fuel injectors and check fuel pressure, maybe the pump is going bad, dont let the fuel pump run without gas, some way gassoline works on the pump as cooling too, and if running dry then it will **** air and burn the pump,

i would check the site glass on the front of the carb to see if their is fuel in the carb . the glass should be about half full of fuel. if not i would check the gas lines and fuel fillter. if those are all in working order then i would check the operation of the fuel pump.( on the 83 it is a mechanical fuel pump on the front of the motor. easy to change . two bolts and three fuel lines .

well, if you thik about to change the fuel pump maybe resolve the problem,remove rear seat bottom then remove the gray cap and disconnect de wire to access to pump

First from the fuel tank in side the fuel tank there is filter remove the screws on the top where the fuel gauge fitted when you remove gauge you can see fillter that is one sometimes blocked.

Next if you check fuel filter it is ok, but nissan sunny has fuel filter inside the caburator where fitted fuel pipe from the fillter clean that filler.
