It is easier to cool a warm engine that to cool an engine at almost over heat condition. So manufacturers run the fan as soon as the engine gets to operating temperature and that gives the cooling system more control of the heat in the system

SOURCE: oil change procedure on a 2005 Hyundai elantra

it is very easy to change the oil put the car on ramps secure the back end look for the drain plug underneath the engine make sure you have the right size wrench and when you remove the plug also check the gasket on the plug to make sure it is not cracked you will also need an oil filter wrench and my other suggestion to you is to go to autozone to see if they have a Haynes repair manual for your car and if they don't see if they can order you one in the mean time they can also print you off a diagram of how to change the oil in you car safely

SOURCE: 2003 Hyundai Elantra - diable alarm

YES!... with various system operating difference. Disconnecting the alarm does not disable it.. it only silences the alarm. You will still need the Keyless Entry System Remote to RESET the alarm to start the vehicle.

SOURCE: P0139 code for a 2003 hyundai elantra. What is this code?

Hi the code P0139 is Bank 1 sensor 2 lambda sensor fault ,possible wiring or sensor fault even if you replace the sensor you need to have the MIL lamp turned off by a Diagnostic machine,it is possible you have another fault such as poor Catalytic converter efficency giving the same fault code ,Would recomend you get the car checked and read the "live" data as the car see`s it to make an accurate diagnosis and cure

Hyundai Elantra 1.6 1997 model overheats after it has no power. What could be the problem ?

Check for water in the oil (gooey foam after running) - blown head gasket. Check for exhaust smelling bubbles in the radiator - blown head gasket. Otherwise heat activated fan switch (on the radiator) is not coming on soon enough or at all. No fan will overheat an engine especially if a lot of stop and go or idling on warm days. Most common is a stuck thermostat, blocking circulation. Other causes are a blocked radiator - shut a warmed engine off and feel the radiator all over - if too cool in some areas, it is possibly getting clogged up inside. If you are getting radiator antifreeze smell inside the car (fogging the windshield when the car starts in cool weather) your heater core is leaking.

Hyundai Elantra temperature goes up to HI when air is turned on

There is an electric fan that should come on with the AC and run whenever the AC is on,if it doesn't come on it will heat up very quickly. Sounds like a problem with that radiator mounted fan.
The fan is supposed to come on when the engine gets hot enough also.
If so, the AC should be ok at hiway speeds. But you need the fan to work.

Hyundai elantra 2003 .the computer gives P0707 and the car jumps between shifts

There are some ecu updates that need to be performed by a dealer. Most elantras never develope a problem with this but some did, hyundai recognizes the problem and has several fixes that can be done by adding the updates to your cars computer, if it is still under warranty this would be done for free. If you are the original purchaser the ten year 100000 mile warranty should cover this. If not the original owner then you will have to pay for it. usually runs around $75. If you have a really cool hyundai dealer available they might hook u up for free.

Heater problem

is your heater set on defrost this will cause your engine fan to run because it turns on the compressor for air conditioner this helps to extract moisture from your warm air defrost  and the fan in the engine compartment helps keep it the engine cool from the extra load on the engine this is normal

2004 elantra heater control only operates at #4 setting

If # 4 is the highest fan setting it might be the resistor pack that controls the fan speeds. For each speed increase the fan switch takes a resistor out of the resistor loop The highest speed is a direct connection to the battery. The switch is usually located very close to the fan since it gets quite hot and needs to be cooled by the fan.It is also generaly accessible from under the hood, but not always.Sometimes it is under the dash Hope this helps.
