Why does the sound my Audi A4 Bose Symphony fluctuate loud and soft only when it is hot outside?

Whenever it is above 80 degrees outside, the sound from my car system (whether I play radio, XM, or AM) fluctuates from loud to very quiet, about every few seconds. It is almost like there might be a lose solder or wire connection with the amplifier that is causing the sound to change rapidly. I am not sure though.

Ya ur on the right track..also a loose ground can do that

Testimonial: "Ok that's what I was thinking. Where do you recommend I start looking in the speaker system for the loose ground or solder? Also, would this issue be a connection from the battery and the amp or even the amp to the system deck? I am just trying to pinpoint the best location so I don't screw anything else up."

I would start with the amplifier.marking sure all wire's are good .plenty of air for the amplifier.not getting hot.then

Try using a compacator to even out the amount of power sent to the amp at times you might get more or less sound depending on the power output

Where is the Amplifier on an 2002 Audi A4

On my '03 A4 it is in the trunk, on the pass. side. You have to remove the trunk floor and carpet on the right side of the trunk and it is bolted to a bracket. I removed the whole bracket. Dealer wanted $800 US. Found one on eBay for $65.

Bose amp

Hopefully you've gotten this answer already, but this might help someone else, too. The amplifier is behind the rear passenger trunk panel. You have to pull out the middle plastic piece that goes over the trunk latch, put the trunk luggage spacer up, and pull the panel out. There is a 12v outlet, domelight wire, and pop fastener, then just pull hard to get the 2 clips. I have a symphony 2 BOSE, and there is no subwoofer, but I think they are in the same place if equipped.
