Hmmm, main bearing noises are usually more obvious when the cluch is released, as the engine is driving the gearbox input shaft, it's more likely the clutch throwout bearing or the spigott bearing, does the noise start as soon as the slack is taken up in the pedal? if yes, it's most likely the throwout bearing, if the noise starts with the pedal about halfway its more likely the spigott bearing. either way, it's probably about time for a replacement cluch kit. Not sure about the 2001 model but 90's model Vitara's tend to suffer from gearbox input shaft wear at the spigott bearing...

SOURCE: truck makes loud noise unless clutch is pushed in

chances are the adjustment of the throwout bearing fork is the problem . because of vibration that is the rattling that you are hearing. correct adjustment should be as follows.

#1...peddle travle should be no more than 1 1/2 inches

#2...the clearance between throw out bearing and fork no more than 1/2 inch

#3...clearance between fork and fork stops is 1/8 inch

also there should be grease zerts in the shaft that holds the fork and linkage make sure they are not dry of grease...please rate the solution....thanks

SOURCE: everytime i push my clutch pedal down the car

There is a problem with dirty injectors. Please clean those by putting high octane fuel in your car or putting an octane booster in your car also you may lube your cluch look for a valve itatake under the car for that.

SOURCE: when clutch pushed in it makes high pitched squeel

Im a mechanic, i think you will find it will be the clutch release bearing on the clutch fork, when you push the clutch in it will push the fork which will push the clutch release bearing onto the clutch plate which rotating with the engine revs

SOURCE: clutch makes whistle noise

Sounds like a throwout bearing is dry.

Metal on metal noise

hi,

most likely the throw out bearing is at fault. when you push the clutch a spinning bearing pushes the clutch plate away from the flywheel disengaging trans so you can switch gears. the transmission has to come away from the engine to fix it.

hi,,

sounds like you had your clutch slave replaced. also I see that you said it doesnt make noise when you push the clutch to the floor, so usually thats the throw out bearing, its inside the transmission. the transmission has to come apart from the engine. the check engine light could be either from the transmission getting a fault, or the oil inside the cap is causing an electrical issue. so you need a throw out bearing and a new distributor. stanzas good for a couple more trips and thats it.

I changed my clutch and releasing bearing but the noise is still there. When ever i release the clutch the noise starts like the release bearing problem and when i take off in first and second gear there...

a release bearing will make noise when you push on the clutch, the input shaft bearing will make noise when you release the clutch, the transmission will have to be removed and torn down to replace the bearing.

1995 chevy s10 2.2 when engine is running and you push clutch all the way down starter bendix is going out making terrible sound already replaced ingnition lock didn't help thanks

Pushing the clutch down shouldn't have anything to do with the starter. It sounds like your throwout bearing may be making the noise.
