SOURCE: the transmission won't shift when car is running

Get a new transmission. It could be your torque converter. Master cylinder is for brakes.

Location of the clutch slave cylinder in pontiac sunfire 2003

The slave cylinder is what moves the clutch fork inside the bell housing. It would be mounted just inside or outside of the bell housing at the flywheel.

The cheapest place is to get one from a junk yard, but you can probably still get them through the dealer.

How do i bleed my 97 Pontiac sunfires clutch??

its not a hard job if you know what you are doing?first get enough fluid, then get another person yes its takes two, find the bleed screw on the slave cyclinder its the one on the gearbox, when you are ready get the person sitting in the car to pump the clutch pedal about 10 times and tell them to hold the pedal in and[ dont] let it out until you say, open the screw and air should come out along with a little fluid, continue about 4 times and the pedal will put all the air out ,if this was good rate me.adrian,,,,,,,,,,,

Clutch goes all the way to the floor without resitance on my daughters 2004 sunfire. there is fluid on the ground and when I checked fluid level it appeared to be empty

Examine carefully to locate exact point of leak. Could be the hydraulic line, a connection between line & slave cylinder or master cylinder, or a bad slave cylinder. Once you identify the point of leak, I can help you with repair info if needed.
