1998 cutlass outer tie rod replacement proceedure

Got some shakin in the front end of the car when I go over 65 mph. Tires have all been balanced and such, guy at Sears told me about the outer tie rod (saw it myself when replacing my control rod bushing,,, but chose to ignore it!! yesss I know,,DUH. Any help with the procedure would be greatly appreciated

Take it to a wheel alignment place since it will have to aligned anyway after it is put on. You will need a special tool to remove it from spindle anyway.

I get vibrations in the front end when I am going around 65 mph. I have had the tires balanced and replaced 2 of the tires, but still have the problem.

You need to have your tie rods checked out. Most of the time it will be your tie rods or your wheel bearings. You can replace your tires all day long, but it will not fix that problem.

Starting at 65 mph steering wheel shakes. 4 new tires, both axles replaced, outer tie rods replaced, ball joints replaced, front struts and rear shocks replaced.

could have bent rim,,even thow,,balance was done,,depends on how mush weight was used to balance?? rotate tires from frt to rear,,see if problem still exits,,ck bearing play,,hoped it helped

The car shakes really bad about 40-50 mph but when you release the gas pedal, it runs smooth, only when you hold the gas pedal down it shakes bad at around this mph. its not the tires. They are all new and...

you are apply torque to the engine upon pushing on the gas pedal so the law of nature states the engine mount maybe broken

The vehicle is shaking at 50 mph

Have the tires checked for,out of round defects,and balanced.If that does not help,have the front end parts checked,tie rod ends.Then have a front end alignment.

If your tires were not properly balanced then it will cause that. Also, if your rotors are warped then icould cause this to happen. YOu would also notice it when braking if rotors are warped.

Get your tires checked out, you may have a seperated tire, or may need to get the balanced checked. and check your air pressure. then while your at the shop get your suspension checked out. while its up in the air.

Check wheel bearings on all four corners and check front ball joints and tie rod ends for play.

Have you checked the U-joints in the rear drive shaft? Also did this happen before the tires were replaced? Take the truck back to where you got the tires and have them check the balance, they should do this for free.
