Brake light and battery light came on at the same time

Both lights came on at the same time yesterday. I have not had any problems with my car turning over. Just replaced the battery 2 months ago.

Have your alternator and alternatorwiring checked, if the ALT light goes on, so does the brake. So it could be that the alternator is faulty. Also check the fuses.

Brake light and battery light stay on on dash it is a 2002 nissan maxima

This would not affect the brake light. Now that you have a new battery, unhook both cables for 15 minutes, then rehook to reset computer. See if this solves the problem with the lights, at least the brake light. If it does, then it can be the alternator unless both lights go out. Then it was a problem at the computer having to be reset.

Brake lights won't go out on a 1991 honda accord and it drains my battery. Is it a problem with the fuse or the electrical system?

Sounds like brake light switch is stuck. Follow brake pedal up under dash. There will be a electrical switch that sets on pedal. Dissconnect switch lights out. Replace switch.

Try a day time running light modual, these things are notorious for messing up,and since they are supposed to work when the car is charging it seems like the logical solution.

The ABS,Brake Light,Battery light go on and off sporadically while driving.Does this indicate an Alternator failure or a sensor/computer problem?

yes it's most likely a alternator problem, usually the internal diode bridge breaks causing all lights you mentioned to come on,if this happens at a idle open the hood and remove green connector on alt.if lights go out you've found the problem

98 Altima GLE - flashing battery light and brake light

If the blinker is doing double time then there is a blown bulb or bad connection somewhere in the lighting system. Check all bulbs and sockets for wear, rust , moisture. It is in your rear light system.. replace all rear bulbs clean connections. Be certain to use recommended bulbs. In some cars universal bulbs can cause a voltage reading problem. Also check your brake switch.

Cold cranking amps

I have a similar situation but it turns out that I am also having an unsolved problem with my 2005 Ford 500 electrical system. Although it could be due to a weak battery I have reason to believe that its root cause that something is wrong with the brake light system. Sometimes when I drive the brake lights stay on and other times they don't. Yesterday, with my foot off the brake pedal (in Park) the brake lights would stay on until I lifted the brake pedal. Today, I can not get it to repeat the symptom nor could an expert auto technican find the problem within several minutes. The battery has been tested and found to have 40% of its life(?) remaining.
