SOURCE: Will not start or come out of park. no lights and dash board dims when key is turned? battery has fully charge.

Using a voltmeter, check that voltage is identical to battery volts at the other end of cables. Check across the battery terminals, across connectors on battery, between negative post on battery and connection at starter, between positive post and end of negative cable then from postiive post and block. Wherever you find a variation, clean and re-check reading. If this does not help, there are sub system teststs you can do as well but I believe you will likely locate your problem before getting into that.

SOURCE: power winidows, wipers, dome lights not working on 1998 explorer

This could be a combination of electrical issues, although i feel that the timing is coincidence in this case. When the combination is elec. windows, wipers, and dome lights this is indicative of the GEM module located behind your radio. The GEM (generic electronic module) is an electronic body control module that regulates electrical flow through a number of accessories.

These factory module boards are notorious for acting quirky by failing to ground intermittently until failing completely. I would be cautious in replacing ignition switches, locks, etc. as the issue can be also compounded by corrosion of the main battery ground wire in the engine compartment and which can cause frying of your under dash wiring into the main wiring harness which can get expensive (i speak from experience having had the exact same syptoms). My issues were that these symptoms occurred only in full ON. When in key BACK ACC mode, they disappeared.

New price for one of these modules is around $280-$300 and easily replaced.

Good Luck

Sounds like an alternator to me. If you are some what mechanically inclined this could be very easy. Take the alternator off and take it to your closest autozone and they will test it for free to confirm.

Locate fuse

That sounds like your ignition switch is bad. It should not only shut the engine off when ignition is turned to off, but when on, the ignition switch should also power up the circuits for the windows, wipers, and dash lights. Replace the ignition switch and it should all work right again.

Sounds like you may need a new battery. Weird things happen when a battery is under charged. Wipers turn on real slow, dash lights come on. Time for a new battery, possibly an alternator if it's not keeping the battery properly charged.

I just got a 1998 PLY Voyager 3.3 o.d. trans. 1. Problem lights blink on & off on rear wiper buttons.2. head lights stay on after i turn off engine day or night.3.Doors a jar dash light stays on.4.air...

Problem #1 The blinking lights in the rear wiper rear defrost area can be reset by holding 2 buttons of the 3 on the left hand side. The top and bottom buttons. Turn the key on and hold them for about 10 sec and they should start flashing differently. Just let it do this. After they start flashing different. It will take 5 to 10 mins. Then one or more will quit flashing all together. If they don't after about 20 min reset them again it can take about 5 trys sometimes before they all go out. Also to fix the dash going out try this. This is a common problem with the voyager, caravans and Town & Countrys. What the problem is is a cold soder in the interment cluster itself. The problem area is where the plug comes from the van into the cluster. You need to take the circuit board out of the cluster and reheat the soder on the back side of the circuit board were the plug plugs into. This will fix the cold soder permanitly I think its about 16 pins you have to reheat with the soder gun. If you don't feel comfrotable doing that you can just replace the interment cluster and it will be fine but if you buy a used one make sure it was tested. This also may fix the ABS light and the airbag light. Hope this helps I have done several of them.
