How to replace a waterpump on a 1999 chevy lumina?

The waterpump is located on passenger side of the car. Its location if you were standing looking from the passenger side at the engine is at the top right of the engine. There is a pully at the top of the engine that has 4 10mm headed bolts should be a non grooved pully.Loosen the bolts on that pully with the belt on once you loosen these bolts but do not remove them just yet.Using a 3/8 drive ratchet find the belt tensioner and release the belt making sure you remember the belt routing.Typically the the belt routing is printed on a plastic shroud that is just above the waterpump. Once you have removed the belt take out the 4 bolts that you previously loosened.Remove that pully now and the waterpump is right behind that. Sometimes the pully sticks a bit so you may need to put something behind it to gently dislodge it.There are 5 bolts on the waterpump the head of these bolts are 5/16 or 8mm remove the the five bolts using a quarter inch drive ratchet.Once this is done you may need to dislodge the pump.A dead blow hammer works well or a block of wood and a hammer could be used in a pinch. This should not require alot of force.Just a few taps should do it you are just breaking the gasket seal at this point. Now that the old pump is removed the old gasket needs to be removed from the waterpump housing. make sure all old gasket material is removed so the new one will seal properly.Take out the replacement pump and and line the new gasket on the waterpump once you have done this remove the gasket so you can adhere the gasket in place with a thin coat of rtv or weatherstrip adhesive. Now you ready to reverse the process to put it back on.Just make sure to line up the five bolt holes and your ready to go. Hope this helps.

ReplaceTentor pully on 1998 Town and Country

It very well could be the tensioner if it does not sit straight, or the idler pulley if the bearings have gone out, but usually 99% of the time it is the power steering pulley that is pulling out from the power steering pump, and that is usually what is causing the belt to mis-align especially at the waterpump pulley, check the alignment of that pulley very well.

How to install waterpump?

Water pump are located by where is the pully or belts located. Some vehicles water pump are connected to the fan itself. To instal the pump, just remove all that neccessary for you that will bother you to access the bolts to remove. First remove the belts connected to the pump by loosening the tensioner. ok

How to change the serpentine belt on a 2002 GMC Sierra HD2500

Look for the belt tensioner pully. If you don't know what this is run the engine and look at the pullies. The one you want is the only one that will be moving up and down. This is the one that is spring loaded.Think it is drivers side top.It may have a square hole in the arm to put a ratchet in.Thinking 3/8" drive but may be 1/2" ,if there is not a hole then you will need a socket that fits on the center bolt of the pully.I will suggest a long handled ratchet or breaker bar,if you don't have one you can put a pipe over the handle of a short handle."cheater pipe"Put force on it so the pully comes up off the belt.If you don't have a belt routing sticker still on your radiator shroud draw one before you remove it.I think the belt comes off on the drivers side.when putting on the new one start at the crank pully, around the waterpump, then to all pullys on passinger side. The last one will be the alternator.Hold the belt down in front of the tensioner pully attach the ratchet and pull until you can slip the belt under the pully,Make sure the belt is properly seated in all pullys before starting.Helps if you have a spare set of hands.

How easy is it to change water pump gasket on 91

There are two pulleys running in this engine, and the waterpump runs on the second pully behind a case. so you have to take almost everything off to get at it. Then, the waterpump is actually the belt tensioner for that pulley system. it is excentric (sp?) so when you turn it in place, it tightens the belt. then you secure it back with three bolts. The belt system in question connects the drive shaft with the cam shaft, So you do have to be Very Careful with the belt/ pulley alignment. i marked the pulleys very very carefully so i could get everything lined up again.

Surpentine belt.

depends on which v8 you have....the 4.7 the routing is as follows it goes under the waterpump pully over the alternator down and around the power steering pumpto the crank...it goes under the bottom of the crank to the idler pully.the flat side of the belt goes ver the idler then around the automatic tensioner to the ac compressor.
on the 5.2 and 5.9 it routes starting at the idler pully the flat side goes undr the idler the up to the ac compressor around the compressor and down to the power steering pump ... around power stering pump to waterpump where the flat side is against waterpump pully around water pump down and around crank up it automatic tensioner....around tensioner and up and over alternator
