I have replaced the maf sensor, however the code came back. Any idea on how to fix this? Thanks
Which engine, we cant guess this>>>>/????
P0172 Hyundai - System Too Rich Bank 1
you are guessing
those codes dont mean start swapping all parts,
it means to do the FSM tests, to find out what is failing.
Faulty front heated oxygen sensor
- Ignition misfiring
- Faulty fuel injectors
- Exhaust gas leaks
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
note MAF is last, it costs the most and is the least likely to fail.
wow. that was an expensive guess... no?
the code means only one THING.
IM TOO RICH.
nothing more. do not try read deep into that fact.
the PCM sees the Oxy sensor way too rich.
IT DONT KNOW WHY,
only a trained tech can find this.
if a V6? engine
bank 1 means, only the side, that is on cylinder #1 side is rich
so not stating engine, we lost all that , key info.
if a V6, its not the maf if only one bank fails,.
it takes a scan tool, watching live data to find this. (I promise)
now why we can NOT help
see the engine line up here.
1.6 L I4 (105 hp)
2.0 L I4 Beta II CVVT (138 hp)
2.7 L V6 Delta (167 bhp) (172 hp)
3 engine, and they dont work the same , SORRY!
use a real scan tool to see all factory codes, and live data.
then you have a full set of facts.
try a tune up first.
maybe one spark plug for $1.49 cents is bad.
That code is for too rich of a fuel mixture. Replacing the MAF was a shot in the dark. You first need to check for vacuum leaks on all the hoses and intake. If you don't find any, then you need to check the injectors.
SOURCE: speed sensor
It is in the transmission case. It is held in place by a single bolt on a Y clamp, has 2 wires coming out of it.
SOURCE: 2002 elantra code P0137 secondary
first does the car have more than 1 o2 sensor sometimes the same code will come on vehicles with 2or 3 o2 sensors then you just hope you get the right one the first time i would check that first the usually have one on the exaust manifold and usually in front of and or behind the catalytic converter or in in the converter itself
